May to October is the southwest monsoon: storms, big swells, closed beaches, 335 mm in September alone in some bays. Cannabis was recriminalised in 2025, do not test it. The Andaman is the dry-half of Thailand; when it's closed, the Gulf (Koh Samui side) is open.
