Palawan
Limestone karsts dropping into water so clear it doesn't look real — El Nido and Coron are what Thailand's beaches looked like 20 years ago. Long flight, slow boats, perfect water.
A wet week ahead. Plan indoor backups.
Days 1–5 are usually reliable, 6–10 drift, 11–14 are the model guessing. Check again the day before you fly — more on what this can and can't do.
When to go
From the 2026 climate study, not the live forecast.Structural odds, not a verdict — the live forecast can still surprise either way.
Dry-season window is sharp: late November through May. July-October is typhoon season — flights cancel, boats don't run, beaches close. Two hub airports: Puerto Princesa (PPS) for the south and the Underground River, El Nido (ENI) for the north and Bacuit Bay island-hopping, Busuanga/Coron (USU) for the WWII wrecks. Internal flights short but unreliable — build a buffer day. Local prices have climbed since 2018; still cheaper than Bali for similar scenery.

Common questions about Palawan
When is the best time to visit Palawan?
December–April is when we'd go. Skip July–October: cyclone season. The live forecast on this page shows what the next two weeks look like.
Is Palawan worth visiting in December?
Yes. December sits inside the best stretch (December–April). Once your dates fall within the next two weeks, the forecast above gives you the real picture.
Is Palawan good in July?
We'd go another month: July means cyclone season. Locked dates? It still works if you take cancellation cover seriously.
Is Palawan good in June?
June isn't in the window our climate data recommends for Palawan (December–April) — usually because other months simply do it better, not because the weather collapses. The season notes above explain the trade-off. If you want sun in June, the wheel on our front page only spins destinations tracking warm right now.
